Ed & Sue Visit!

Grant's parents came to visit a couple of weeks ago. We had a great time with them!
On Friday night Grant and I took Ed & Sue out to dinner at The Chart House. The Chart House is downtown, right on the St. John's River. They have great food!

They came to visit us after we moved into the house, so we were excited to show them some of the improvements we've made since then! Grant showed off his workbench and they couldn't help but notice our tree-less front yard!

Sue had left Fort Myers to get a break from all of the work they have been doing down there just to do yard work up here!

On Saturday we all went to a farmer's market downtown and then went to dinner. We also stopped by the home improvement store to get supplies for my next project...painting the guest bathroom vanity.

A week later I sanded the vanity...twice...and then primed it...and then painted 3 coats of white paint. I also spray painted the hinges silver to match the other new hardware on the cabinet doors. We still need to replace the vanity top and all of the tile.

Thanks for visiting Ed & Sue!! We love you!! (and so does Penelope!!)

Friends - Happy Birthday Jeff!

A few months back Grant and I bought a table and chairs on Craigslist. The people we bought the dining set from were our age. They seemed cool. Fast forward from March to July and we're going out to Maggianos to celebrate Jeff's (one of the owners of the dining set) birthday. Sometimes you make great friends in unique ways!

Here are some photos from our night out with our good friends: Jeff & Andrea, Sean & Stephanie and Jason & Claudia.

Polaroids

I found a few polaroids laying around the other day so I thought I would put them together in one picture....

This is just something I did rather quickly while watching TV. If I was to redo it, I pick a better picture that had the faces bigger so you could break them into multiple boxes easier. Also I'd make the white boarders a little thinner, and take the time to make sure the top was the same as the sides. But this was still fun to do and practice different photoshop techniques.

Work Bench

I been meaning to post on my work bench... Couple of 2x4's some ply wood with a few washers, lag screws, lag bolts and nuts I came up with this.

It stands 43'' tall, 24'' wide, 72'' long.
It quickly became a place to just set stuff.
I even put some caster wheels on it so it can be moved around the garage easily if needed.
The bench was inexpensive to build and gave me a good reason to get some cool new tools!
