Grant’s good friend from childhood lives in California. We have enjoyed spending time with him in Indianapolis, California and at his wedding in Indiana. Him and his wife are both truly amazing people. When I think about the people Grant chose to surround himself with before we met, I smile. He chose people of great character, who build him and other up, love God and are so much fun to be around.
Here are a few of my favorite photos from our times with Nate over the years.
Nate is an Army Chaplain. His work and passion are so important. He is changing lives. He is stationed in Columbia, SC for the summer and was able to make the trip down to Jacksonville to spend the weekend with us.
He arrived Friday night. We had dinner and caught up, stayed up late and got up early the next day. Grant was excited to have a bowling buddy…so we got to Latitude 30 just as it opened on Saturday. They bowled for an hour and then played in the game room. We had a lot of fun.
We grabbed lunch at one of Grant’s favorite spots, PF Changs and then made a trip to Costco to buy what we needed for a bbq at our house later that night.
As all good Costco trips do, we ended up buying an office chair and organization station along with burgers, chicken and buns! Luckily we had Nate there to help us fit it all in the car. He even helped put together the chair and shelving unit when we got back to the house.
That night we had a bunch of our friends over for a bbq. It was a great time!
When Grant and I had cleaned out the baby room closet we found an old piƱata…probably from a birthday years ago. It was still in tact and filled with 3 year old candy. We decided to bring it out and take a few swings after dinner.
Sunday came so fast. We spent an hour or so at the beach and then Nate was on his way back to SC. But we’ll be able to see him again in August and I cannot wait!
